''מבלקנטי לבראבורה - התפתחות האופרה''
The idea of OVERTUREA Lloyd: As the name suggests, first comes the introduction. Studying at a recognized music academy is currently the preferable way for a singer to become a professional. Israel music academies offer comprehensive musical training and invaluable performing experience. To pass the audition for entry into academy a singer must learn, not just to sing well, but to have a good working knowledge of ear training and music theory. Our workshop prepares singers for auditions in both voice and ear training and musical theory. Living in Israel for the past seven years it came to me that Israel is abundant with young singing talents. The great majority of them is unfortunately wasted. High level of training is way too expensive for these young people, leaving them no chance to become professionals. We aim to fill this gap, offering high degree of expertise while keeping costs to the bare minimum What is your special method of teaching? Lloyd: Professional singers throughout the world have been using the bel canto, or Italian style of singing for about 400 years. It is a highly recommended method of vocal technique and will be used for teaching all students in the Overture program.
Tomer: Lloyd and I share the belief, that so called "theoretical" side of music shouldn`t stay theoretical at all. Overture method applies concepts learned in music theory and ear training lessons to the actual singing material. Our students understand these concepts musically, not just intellectually. This makes them better musicians and better singers. Overture programs, adapted to the methods practiced in Israel music academies, are carefully tailored to the needs of each student. Our students seek the most effective path to music academy, no matter how experienced they are Experience Lloyd: I have been an opera singer in Australia, performing more than 12 major roles over a period of 7 years. Since making aliyah in 1999 I was active as a soloist, chorister and singing teacher. Tomer: I graduated with a masters degree in musical composition from Buchmann-Mehta school of music (Tel-Aviv University), where I worked as a teacher and as an assistant for Dr. Bat-sheva Rubinstein, head of music theory department. VISION for the Opera singers in Israel With the wealth of young singing talent in Israel, a fine opera company with a magnificent opera house, the opportunity to offer Israeli singers the chance to develop their art through the recognized music academies is most important. Overture will help many more singers to be accepted into these academies with a sound preparation in both vocal and music developmentלפרטים: תומר 0522337097 לויד 0544266608
